About Us

A Glimpse About Wild Olive Shoot Foundation
Satilla Retreat is owned by Wild Olive Shoot Foundation (WOSF). We exist to change lives through
hearing God’s Word and having Christ’s love modeled in all aspects of the organization. Embedded
in a variety of settings, Biblical Christian standards are upheld in all of the amenities and activities
offered on the properties or any off-site activities and programs. As a religious non-profit ministry,
WOSF has the freedom to share the gospel of Christ and to create a Christ-centered culture.
Using a sustainable business model, properties are a desired retreat from the every-day rhythm of life.
Our mission is to play an active role in Christ-centered, away-from-home experiences to shape and change lives. Examples of properties and/or programs could include short-term rentals, retreats, training programs,
and mission preparedness. While there are similar businesses in existence, this will provide another
option that is unique to the gifting and calling of WOSF executives. Our CREW will be in alignment with
the WOSF Statement of Faith and passionate about the mission. We put great thought and intentionality
into choosing our mission, hope, and principles.
Our hope is to establish multiple, Christ-centered, wholesome environments that
provide gospel intentionality through unique gathering spaces and selfless service.
Our principles help to keep us going in the right direction on a daily basis:
Gospel Centered | Biblically Grounded | People Focused | Service Minded | Accountability Based
Property Caretakers
WOSF Executive Director & Founder, AJ, and his wife, Christine, were both spiritually impacted by the Christian camp experience at a young age. Since then, they have spent vocational and bi-vocational energies into maximizing the Christian away-from-home experience in various settings. Their focus is on employing solid, time-tested business principles that allow the voice of the ministry to shine. Owner-minded strategies have given them the opportunity to experience the market and discover ways to be successful and react to the always changing times while keeping in mind the stewardship they have for the opportunities God has provided.
Personal experience, as well as research, shows the disproportionate impact of experiences away from home. More than twenty years of successful business ownership as well as leadership in Christian camping and conference centers is the preparation for the development and senior leadership for this new endeavor.
A Christian-based hospitality retreat is the outflow of their gifting and calling.

For from Him and through Him and for Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen. Romans 11:36

Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear
fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither
can you, unless you abide in Me. John 15:4
